OVERVIEW
What is facial rejuvenation surgery?
Facial rejuvenation surgery lifts and refreshes the face by repositioning tissues that have descended with age — through a facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift or a combination. At NewMe every plan is designed and performed by one facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Bahadır Demirkan, using the deep plane approach that repositions the deeper support layer rather than pulling the skin. Surgery takes place under general anaesthetic at Anatolia Hospital in Antalya, and most UK patients stay about 10 days, with sutures removed on day 8.
Why the deep plane matters: skin, muscle and the deep support structures descend together. Lifting the deeper layer as one unit gives a natural, longer-lasting result without the tight, “wind-tunnel” look of skin-only lifts.
WHAT WE TREAT
Which facial procedure is right for me?
Ageing rarely happens in one place. Your surgeon assesses every zone together and recommends only what your anatomy actually needs.
| Procedure | What it treats | Often combined with |
|---|---|---|
| Deep plane face & neck lift | Jowls, deep nasolabial folds, loose neck skin and a blurred jawline | Eyelid surgery, brow lift, fat transfer |
| Upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) | Hooded upper lids and puffy bags or loose skin under the eyes | Brow lift or a face and neck lift |
| Brow and temporal lift | Low or heavy brows and drooping outer corners of the eyes | Upper eyelid surgery |
| Neck lift | Neck bands, loose neck skin and a soft jaw angle | Lower-face lift |
| Lip lift | A long upper lip that shows little upper tooth | Face lift or as a stand-alone procedure |
| Finishing procedures | Prominent ears (otoplasty), full lower cheeks (buccal fat removal), scars and skin texture (laser resurfacing) | Any of the above |
A single targeted procedure is often enough. When several zones need treatment, they can be combined in one operation, one anaesthesia and one recovery.
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
Am I a candidate for facial rejuvenation surgery?
Suitability is confirmed by your surgeon after reviewing your photos and examining your face in person.
✓ You have sagging in the jowls, neck or midface, or hooded or puffy eyelids that make you look more tired than you feel
✓ You are a non-smoker, or willing to stop at least 4 weeks before and after surgery
✓ You are in good general health, and conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes are well controlled
✓ You want a natural, rested result rather than a dramatically different face
YOUR SURGEON
Who will perform my facial surgery?
All facial surgery at NewMe is performed by one dedicated facial plastic surgeon. When separate procedures are done by separate hands at separate times, faces can drift out of harmony — so one surgeon examines every zone in a single assessment, tells you honestly what you do not need, and performs your plan himself.
Op. Dr. Bahadır Demirkan
Board-certified plastic surgeon, former Assistant Professor and TUS top-100 graduate. At NewMe he leads facial aesthetic surgery — deep plane face and neck lifts, eyelid and brow surgery and rhinoplasty — planning every face as a whole.
THE PROCEDURE
How does a deep plane facelift work?
A face and neck lift is performed under general anaesthetic; combined procedures are added in the same session when they are right for you.
1
Design consultation
In Antalya your surgeon examines your face again, marks the plan with you in the mirror and confirms exactly which procedures you need.
2
Deep plane repositioning
Through incisions hidden in the hairline and around the ear, the deeper support layer is released and lifted as one unit, then secured — the skin is redraped, not pulled tight.
3
Closure & finishing
Incisions are closed with fine sutures. Sutures come out on day 8, when any planned laser finishing session also takes place.
YOUR HOSPITAL
Where is my facial surgery performed?
Your operation and your hospital stay take place at Anatolia Hospital in Antalya — one of NewMe’s contracted institutions, accredited by Temos for Quality in Medical Care. A dedicated anaesthesia team looks after you during surgery and the hospital’s nurses care for you around the clock while you are an inpatient. You then recover in a quiet hotel nearby, with daily check-ins until your final review.
RECOVERY
What is recovery like after facial surgery?
Day 1–2
Arrival, pre-operative tests and your design consultation; surgery under general anaesthetic with 24-hour nursing care.
Day 3–8
Quiet recovery at your hotel with daily check-ins. Sutures out on day 8 and, where planned, your laser finishing session.
Day 10
Final review, fit-to-fly clearance and your English-language surgical report for your GP.
Week 2–4 and beyond
Most bruising and visible swelling settle in the first 2 weeks; full recovery takes about 2–4 weeks, and the result keeps refining for 6–9 months.
SAFETY
What are the risks of facial rejuvenation surgery?
Facial surgery is generally safe in experienced hands, but like any operation it carries risks. Your surgeon goes through them with you before you book, and we recommend reading the NHS overview of facelifts and on eyelid surgery as well.
Common and expected
Swelling, bruising and numbness of the cheeks and ears, tightness, and feeling low for a few days after surgery.
Less common
A blood collection under the skin (haematoma), slow healing, thicker scars, slight asymmetry, and temporary hair thinning near the incisions.
Rare but serious
Injury to a facial nerve causing weakness or loss of sensation, blood clots in a vein, infection, and reactions to the anaesthetic.
How we reduce your risk: blood pressure control and a full health check before surgery; stopping smoking and blood-thinning supplements beforehand; a dedicated anaesthesia team and 24-hour nursing; daily check-ins during your stay; and a fit-to-fly review before you travel home.

QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Facelift, eyelids, brow — how do I know what I actually need?
You don’t have to know — that’s the assessment’s job. Send a few photos on WhatsApp and our facial surgeon examines every zone together, then recommends the smallest plan that achieves your goal. Being told “you don’t need that yet” happens regularly.
Is a combined operation safe?
Combined facial surgery is routine for a dedicated facial surgeon: procedures share one anaesthesia in a Temos-accredited hospital, with a dedicated anaesthesia team and 24-hour nursing. Suitability is confirmed individually at assessment.
Will I look “done”?
The deep plane approach exists to avoid that: it restores structure instead of stretching skin, so the change reads as rested and younger — not operated. Natural is the explicit design goal.
Where are the scars?
Facelift incisions sit in the hairline and in the natural creases around the ear; eyelid incisions follow the upper-lid crease or sit just below the lower lashes. They fade to fine lines over the following months.
Can I have eyelid surgery on its own?
Yes. Many patients only need upper or lower eyelid surgery, which has a shorter recovery than a facelift. Your surgeon will tell you if that is all you need.
How long do I need to stay in Antalya?
About 10 days for a face and neck lift or a combined plan: surgery and your hospital stay, recovery at a hotel nearby, suture removal on day 8 and your final review.
How long until I’m presentable?
Most bruising and visible swelling settle in the first two weeks, and many patients feel camera-ready between weeks 2 and 4. The result continues to refine for several months.
How long does a facelift last?
Your face continues to age, but a deep plane lift resets the clock — most patients keep a visibly fresher look for many years compared with not having surgery.
Which hospital is the surgery performed in?
At Anatolia Hospital in Antalya, one of NewMe’s contracted institutions, accredited by Temos for Quality in Medical Care.
Is the hotel included?
No. Your package covers your surgery, hospital stay, VIP transfers, suture removal and follow-up. Hotel nights are booked separately, and we can arrange a hotel close to the hospital for you.
