Labiaplasty in Turkey
A deeply personal decision, handled with complete discretion. Labiaplasty reshapes enlarged or asymmetric labia that cause discomfort in fitted clothing, cycling, sport or intimacy — performed with a fine-suture technique by board-certified plastic surgeons at Anatolia Hospital in Antalya.

OVERVIEW
What is labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is surgery to reduce or reshape the inner lips of the vulva (labia minora), and sometimes the outer lips or the skin around the clitoris. It removes excess tissue and restores symmetry while preserving the sensitive anatomy — it is reshaping, not reconstruction. At NewMe it takes about an hour, using dissolvable sutures, at Anatolia Hospital in Antalya, and most UK patients fly home after about 5 days.
Why women choose it: for many the reason is physical — chafing in leggings or swimwear, discomfort on a bike saddle, irritation during exercise or intimacy. Labia naturally vary a great deal in size, shape and colour, so if surgery is not what you need, your surgeon will tell you honestly. Whatever your reason, it stays between you and your surgeon.
TECHNIQUES
Which labiaplasty technique is right for me?
The technique depends on where the excess tissue is and the natural edge you want to keep. Your surgeon recommends the approach after a private consultation.
| Technique | What it does | Usually suits |
|---|---|---|
| Edge (trim) labiaplasty | Removes excess tissue along the outer edge of the inner lips | Long or uneven inner lips, including darker edges you would like reduced |
| Wedge labiaplasty | Removes a V-shaped section and joins the edges, keeping the natural border | Patients who want to preserve the natural colour and texture of the edge |
| Clitoral hood reduction | Reduces excess skin folds around the clitoris; often combined with inner-lip reduction | Excess hood tissue that looks out of proportion after labiaplasty alone |
| Labia majora reduction | Reduces loose or enlarged outer lips | Excess outer-lip skin, for example after weight loss or with age |
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
Is labiaplasty right for me?
Labiaplasty suits adult women with physical discomfort or long-standing concerns about the size or shape of their labia. Suitability is confirmed in a private consultation.
✓ You have discomfort from enlarged or uneven labia in clothing, during sport, cycling or intimacy
✓ Your labia have been fully developed for some time and your concerns are long-standing
✓ You are a non-smoker, or willing to stop at least 4 weeks before and after surgery
✓ You are in good general health, with realistic expectations about the result
Your surgeon may suggest waiting if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy soon, or if you have an untreated infection.
THE PROCEDURE
How does labiaplasty work?
The operation takes about an hour. Most patients choose light general anaesthesia for complete comfort; your anaesthetist confirms the safest option for you.
1
Private planning
In a one-to-one consultation your surgeon agrees with you exactly how much tissue to remove and which natural features to keep.
2
Precise reshaping
Excess tissue is removed with the chosen technique, preserving the sensory structures and creating a natural, symmetrical edge.
3
Fine dissolvable sutures
The edges are closed with dissolvable micro-sutures — nothing to remove later and no follow-up procedure needed.

YOUR HOSPITAL
Where is my labiaplasty performed?
Your operation and your hospital nights take place at Anatolia Hospital in Antalya — one of NewMe’s contracted institutions, accredited by Temos for Quality in Medical Care. An anaesthetist looks after you during surgery and the hospital’s nursing team cares for you while you are an inpatient. After discharge you recover in a hotel nearby, and our coordinators check on you discreetly until your final review.
RECOVERY
What is recovery like after labiaplasty?
Day 1–7
Walking comfortably from the next day, with loose clothing and simple care routines. Soreness, swelling and bruising are normal. Most patients fly home after their final check, around day 5.
Week 2
Swelling settles steadily and desk work is usually possible — the NHS suggests up to 2 weeks off work.
Week 4–6
Gentle exercise returns. Sex and more strenuous activity usually resume from around weeks 4–6, with your surgeon’s clearance.
Month 2–3
The sutures have dissolved, the skin has fully healed and the final shape is visible.
SAFETY
What are the risks of labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is generally a safe procedure, but like any operation it carries risks. Your surgeon goes through them with you before you book, and we recommend reading the NHS overview of labiaplasty as well.
Common and expected
Soreness, swelling and bruising for up to about 2 weeks, and some discomfort when sitting or walking in the first days.
Less common
Bleeding, infection, slow wound healing, scarring or slight unevenness between the two sides.
Rare but serious
Reduced or changed sensitivity, blood clots in a vein, and reactions to the anaesthetic.
How we reduce your risk: careful planning of how much tissue to remove — never more than needed; a full health check before surgery; stopping smoking at least 4 weeks before and after; clear hygiene and aftercare instructions; and a final review before you fly home.

QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Is the whole process really discreet?
Completely — from your first WhatsApp message to your final check-up. Consultations are one-to-one, records are confidential, and no photography of results is ever shared or published.
Will labiaplasty affect sensation?
The technique reshapes excess tissue only and preserves the sensory anatomy. Reduced sensitivity is a rare risk, and your surgeon explains exactly what will and won’t change at your consultation.
General or local anaesthesia?
Both are possible. Most patients choose light general anaesthesia for complete comfort during the roughly one-hour procedure; your anaesthetist confirms the safest option for you.
Will there be a visible scar?
The incision follows the natural edge or fold of the labia and heals as a fine line that is usually very hard to see once fully healed.
How long do I need to stay in Antalya?
Around 5 days: two nights in hospital, then a short hotel stay until your final check.
When can I go back to work and exercise?
Desk work is usually possible within 1–2 weeks. Gentle exercise returns after a few weeks, and strenuous activity from around weeks 4–6.
When can I have sex again?
Usually after at least 4–6 weeks, once your surgeon has confirmed the area has healed.
Do the stitches need to be removed?
No. The sutures are dissolvable and disappear on their own over the following weeks — there is no follow-up procedure.
Which hospital is the surgery performed in?
At Anatolia Hospital in Antalya, one of NewMe’s contracted institutions, accredited by Temos for Quality in Medical Care.
Is the hotel included?
No. Your package covers the operation, your hospital nights, VIP transfers and private follow-up. Hotel nights are booked separately, and we can arrange a hotel close to the hospital for you.
